About the event
This presentation will review the 2014 - 2023 Individual Life Experience Committee (ILEC) mortality data set. This robust dataset includes the most recent aggregated mortality experience of the US Life Insurance industry both before and throughout the COVID years. The session will cover preliminary findings and emerging trends in mortality experience, organized by key policy characteristics, providing actuaries with an initial view of this data to support pricing and valuation assumptions.
Robert Gomez is an Actuarial Consultant III at State Farm Insurance Company, where he focuses on data governance, the intersection of actuarial and underwriting, and advanced analytics. A life actuary by training, he also serves as an Instructional Assistant Professor at Illinois State University and is an active volunteer with the Society of Actuaries, contributing to the Individual Life Experience Committee, the DEI Strategic Research Program Steering Committee, and the Actuarial Innovation & Technology Program Steering Committee.
